When you visit the Site, we collect certain information about your device, your interaction with the Site, and information necessary to process your purchases. We may also collect additional information if you contact us for customer support. In this Privacy Policy, we refer to any information about an identifiable individual as “Personal Information”.

  • Source of collection: collected automatically when you access our Site using cookies, log files, web beacons, tags, or pixels.

Study tools

The student quiz has its own privacy explanation. You can use it without an account or email address. Lesson review suggestions use your completed quiz attempts and your time zone. They do not change your recorded scores or your tutor's access to existing learning records.

“Find in this note” searches the note currently open in your browser, including unsaved edits. Lookup questions and passages are not sent to an AI provider or saved as a conversation. The note itself continues to use the normal note-saving feature.

Search notes & lessons searches accessible lessons and your own saved notes on our server and returns matching excerpts. It does not send notes to an AI provider or create a saved chat. The search page explains which material was included. Your study desk uses your existing plans, notes and practice records. Its session checklist and any study-self tip you explicitly choose are stored for your account in this browser, with reset and removal controls. Those preferences do not transfer your anonymous quiz answers, change your scores, or share your notes with study partners.

When you choose material for a session, the checklist keeps its note or lesson identifier, practice mode, study day and checked steps in this browser. For notes, it also keeps a fingerprint of the saved version, without copying the note text. We check that you can still access the source before showing its session links. Reading comfort saves only your text-size and line-spacing choices for your account in this browser; you can reset them from the reading controls.

Lesson quiz suggestions use your completed lesson quiz history to explain suggested topics and levels. Revision plans are saved for your account in this browser when you choose to save them; they contain your chosen topics, dates, availability and self-reported checks. You can remove that saved plan from the planner. Calendar export creates a file for you to import. Find a passage for my question checks your question against your saved notes and accessible lessons on our server, returns quoted passages or an insufficient-evidence response, and does not save the question or send it to an AI provider. Mistake self-checks stay in the open tab and do not change quiz results. Partner filters stay in the open page and do not change which information you share.

Note flashcards use your saved notes and keep self-reported review dates in this browser for your account. The local review record contains card identifiers and scheduling information; it does not copy the note text or change quiz scores. Changes to a saved note can reset its local review schedule. Today checks the current saved notes before showing due counts from these browser schedules.

Text and Markdown imports are read and previewed in your browser. The note is sent to your account’s normal note storage only when you choose to save it. Blank-page recall loads your saved note and checks access when you practise; your written responses, missed points and question cues stay in the open page and are lost when you leave or reload. They are not sent for grading or to an AI provider. Study-pack downloads contain only the selected saved note and the worksheet or answer section you choose.

The workload inbox brings together your personal tasks, homework and lesson assignments. Tasks you explicitly save there use your account’s existing task storage. Marking a personal task done does not submit homework or complete an assessed lesson. The solo focus timer stores a resumable run and, when you choose to save them, your study bookmark and next-step note in this browser. Completed focus sessions continue to use the normal account session records. You can clear a saved bookmark from the timer. Choosing a task for focus keeps that task attached to the session. Finishing the timer does not mark it done; that is a separate choice.

When study-partner discovery is available, preferences you save there are private until you select “Share my study card”. Sharing makes your display name, username (if set), chosen subjects, language, study style, session time and selected room invitation visible to signed-in students. Matching uses those preferences, not your notes or grades. You can hide your card or delete your partner preferences on that page. Hiding stops discovery; a room code already shared can still be used until you close the room. Expired sessions and closed rooms are no longer shown in discovery.

Sharing personal information

We share your personal information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfil our contracts with you, as described above. Using personal information

We use your personal information to provide our services to you, which includes: offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfilment of your order, and keeping you up to date on new products, services, and offers.

Lawful basis

Pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), if you are a resident of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), we process your personal information under the following lawful bases:

  • your consent;
  • the performance of the contract between you and the Site;
  • compliance with our legal obligations;

Retention

When you place an order through the Site, we will retain your personal information for our records unless and until you ask us to erase this information. For more information on your right of erasure, please see the ‘Your rights’ section below.

Automatic decision-making

If you are a resident of the EEA, you have the right to object to processing based solely on automated decision-making (which includes profiling), when that decision-making has a legal effect on you or otherwise significantly affects you. Services that include elements of automated decision-making include: a temporary blacklist of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions (this blacklist persists for a small number of hours), and a temporary blacklist of credit cards associated with blacklisted IP addresses (this blacklist persists for a small number of days).

Cookies

A cookie is a small amount of information that's downloaded to your computer or device when you visit our Site. We use a number of different cookies, including functional, performance, advertising, and social media or content cookies. Cookies make your browsing experience better by allowing the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login and region selection). This means you don't have to re-enter this information each time you return to the Site or browse from one page to another. Cookies also provide information on how people use the website.

The length of time that a cookie remains on your computer or mobile device depends on whether it is a “persistent” or “session” cookie. Session cookies last until you stop browsing and persistent cookies last until they expire or are deleted. Most of the cookies we use are persistent and will expire between 30 minutes and two years from the date they are downloaded to your device.

You can control and manage cookies in various ways. Please keep in mind that removing or blocking cookies can negatively impact your user experience and parts of our website may no longer be fully accessible. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can choose whether or not to accept cookies through your browser controls, often found in your browser's “Tools” or “Preferences” menu.

Do not track

Please note that because there is no consistent industry understanding of how to respond to “Do Not Track” signals, we do not alter our data collection and usage practices when we detect such a signal from your browser.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.

Complaints

As noted above, if you would like to make a complaint, please contact us by e-mail using the details provided under “Contact” above.
